Dog mentoring is built upon the benefits of the human-animal bond.
It provides children with positive experiences that can help educationally, developmentally, emotionally and socially.
It has a proven positive impact on young people; self-esteem, behaviour, peer relationships, engagement, and these in turn drive improvements in better mental health and academic achievement.
"Mental health problems among pupils has reached record highs:
Low self esteem 86%, depression 76%, and constant feeling of anger 68%"
